I noticed that you’ve recently purchased a unit in the very lovely Bellevue Towers condos. Good call, buddy! Those buildings are sweet. At least from the outside. You know, I once was heavily involved in condo development projects in downtown Bellevue. I sometimes worked with the firm that built the Bellevue Towers and watched them being built for over a year. You see, back then I had a very good, well-paying job at a commercial real estate firm located in another tower just up the street. I passed the construction on my way to and from Jamba Juice almost every day. Oh, I miss Jamba Juice. I’m on a restricted diet now that doesn’t allow fruit, so I don’t get to go there. Also, I don’t work in downtown Bellevue anymore. You see, the Great Recession cost me my job, so I was long gone by the time your buildings were completed. Consequently, I have never had the opportunity to see the inside. Which brings me to my point. It’d be real cool if you’d invite me to your housewarming party. Here are some reasons why this is a good idea:
- I’m very funny. I will tell many hilarious jokes that will make your guests laugh and, therefore, have fond memories of your party.
- As previously noted, I am on a restricted diet, so you can rest assured that I will not eat up all the hors d’oeuvres like all those needy little piggies your wife invited.
- I will not hit on your wife/girlfriend/special friend. I bet your old college roommate will, though. I don’t trust that guy. He looks pretty shifty.
- I carry some extra weight in my mid-section. This is not especially relevant, except inasmuch as it relates to item #2. Also, it gives me a bit of a jolly look, which makes it also relevant to item #1.
- The past 4 years have been difficult for me, emotionally and economically. It would be therapeutic for me to finally get the chance to see the inside of such a beautiful building. I think that doing a good deed, like that, would make you feel pretty warm and fuzzy inside…and maybe your wife/girlfriend/special friend would appreciate that and find herself especially drawn to you, making him/her/it less susceptible to the advances of that old roommate. That guy is up to no good.
So, as you can see, there’s a pretty airtight case in favor of inviting me to your party. I probably won’t be able to bring any gifts, or anything, given that I am on a tight budget. However, I will probably wear my famed purple t-shirt with little kittens painted on it. One time I wore that to a fancy casino bar in Las Vegas. My friends were all quite thrilled.
Anyhoo, I am looking forward to your party. See you soon!
-Rob
