Finding a rental home, apartment or condo in the Seattle area can be very frustrating and time consuming. There is no single place that posts all of the rentals available. There is the MLS (multiple listing service) that does have an assortment of rental listings, however, most property management companies do not post their listings because they want to avoid paying a commission fee and apartment complexes never add their inventory. Not only is this time consuming, but it is dangerous. Craigslist is filled with numerous scams, and when you rent directly from a private owner you never know if the home is in foreclosure or even if the person signing your lease has authority to be renting out the property.
