Capitol Hill Real Estate and Neighborhood Guide

Situated directly to the east of downtown Seattle, Capitol Hill rises above the city, overlooking skyscrapers and Lake Union, with views as far west as the Olympic Mountains, and as far east as the Cascades, over Lake Washington. One of Seattle’s most culturally and economically diverse neighborhoods, Capitol Hill is home to some of the city’s most unique bars, restaurants and artists, as well as hospitals and colleges. Capitol Hill is home to some Seattle’s grandest mansions, as well as some truly classic early 20th-Century apartments, though in recent years redevelopment has introduced some truly modern and architecturally innovative condos and commercial buildings.

Most Seattle residents know Capitol Hill for its vibrant arts, dining and nightlife scene, distributed between the long North/South stretch of Broadway, and the Pike/Pine corridor that stretches east from downtown’s famous Pike Place Market. The best way to meet Capitol Hill is simply to head up there and walk around. It is one of Seattle’s most pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods, and there is a virtually limitless array of unique and interesting shops, restaurants, parks and bars to explore.
